American Horticultural Society

The American Horticultural Society (AHS), founded in 1922, recognizes and promotes excellence in American horticulture. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious gardening organizations in the United States whose mission is to educate and inspire people of all ages to become successful and environmentally responsible gardeners by advancing the art and science of horticulture. AHS is known for its educational programs and the dissemination of horticultural information. The AHS as it is known today is the result of combining three different horticultural groups, the (original) American Horticultural Society, the National Horticultural Society, and the American Horticultural Council.
