The American Lung Association of Idaho/Nevada are among the oldest regional American Lung Association offices in the country. The American Lung Association (ALA) is the oldest voluntary health organization in the United States, with a National Office and constituent and affiliate associations around the country. Founded in 1904 to fight tuberculosis, ALA today fights lung disease in all its forms, with special emphasis on asthma, tobacco control and environmental health. Our mission is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. The American Lung Association of Idaho/Nevada offers many educational programs to help people quit smoking and to help people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
