American Lung Association of Virginia

The American Lung Association of Virginia (ALAV) was founded in 1909 as the Virginia Tuberculosis Society. Today, we work to prevent lung disease and promote lung health and we are a chapter of the American Lung Association. Our headquarters office is located in Richmond and we also have five satellite offices. The American Lung Association of Virginia develops and implements a number of education and prevention, support, research and advocacy initiatives to support the fight against lung disease. We provide educational programs for Virginians in the areas of asthma, tobacco prevention and cessation, and environmental health.
