Cancer Prevention Institute

The mission of the Cancer Prevention Institute (CPI) is to build a healthier community, through assisting the residents of the greater Miami Valley area in the fight against cancer by conducting high quality cancer prevention and control research and by providing effective cancer prevention education, outreach and screening programs. The Cancer Prevention Institute was founded as Hipple Cancer Research Center in 1977. The Cancer Prevention Institute’s scientific team focuses on epidemiology and the assessment of cancer prevention strategies, including chemoprevention. The intent is to translate results for cancer prevention research into programs which will fit the community.
