Community Food Banks of South Dakota

For over 20 years the food banks in Sioux Falls and Rapid City have been distributing donated and purchased food products to nonprofit meal-providing agencies and food pantries across South Dakota. In January 2004, the Food Service Center (Sioux Falls) and the Black Hills Regional Food Bank (Rapid City) merged together to become the Community Food Banks of South Dakota. Our work of fighting hunger has not changed, but rather has been enhanced by the combining of talents and resources to reach those individuals and families with hunger needs in all areas of our state. In 2003, we distributed over ten million pounds of food and grocery supplies to nearly 500 member agencies in all 66 counties of South Dakota.
