Great Swamp Watershed Association

The Great Swamp Watershed Association was formed in 1981 to protect the water and land and encourage good management policies and practices in the 36,000 acres that cover the Great Swamp watershed of New Jersey. We monitor and assess the quality of local streams, assist in acquiring and preserving critical and threatened properties, strengthen partnerships with local and state public and private organizations, and promote environmental education for all ages. Our vision for a better world begins with healthy communities in which the water we drink is clean and pure, and natural areas–such as the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, Loantaka Brook Reservation, and Jockey Hollow–provide places where we can seek renewal and a sense of peace.
