Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver (HFHMD) is a Christian housing ministry founded in 1979 as an affiliate of Habitat International. Habitat is a community based home-ownership program. Homeowner candidates and volunteers build decent, affordable homes throughout the metro area. Qualified families purchase Habitat homes with zero-interest loans and make mortgage payments based on 25 percent of the family’s incomes. Mortgage payments are reinvested into the program to fund future construction. Since its founding, Habitat of Denver has built more than 248 homes throughout the metro area which house more than 1,000 people. In 2004 HFHMD was selected as the Habitat Affiliate of the Year.
