Houston Audubon Society

Houston Audubon Society (HAS) works to promote the conservation and appreciation of birds and wildlife habitat. We do that by acquiring and maintaining critical habitat as bird sanctuaries and through education programs and field trips for children and adults. What makes us different from all those other conservation organizations? Everything we do is about protecting birds and their need for specific habitats. The Houston Audubon Society was incorporated in 1969 with an original membership of 200. Today, with members from 12 counties along the Upper Texas Coast, HAS is the second largest Audubon Society in the nation.
