Humane Society of Tampa Bay

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, established in 1912, is dedicated to the welfare of all animals because of their intrinsic value and rights. Its primary purposes are the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, the extension of humane education and the provision of shelter-based services. We provided shelter for more than 3,750 dogs and cats in 2004. We try to provide friendly, healthy companion animals to responsible and prepared pet owners. During 2004, 2,364 dogs and cats were placed in homes. We also provide spaying and neutering; lost and found services; information and referral services; humane euthanasia; a humane education program and a behavior helpline.
