Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is a volunteer-based organization committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. We are the only Twin Cities organization with a dual focus on meeting the social and practical needs of isolated elders. Over half of our elders receive no services other than those we provide. All of our services are free of charge. There are only two criteria for elders joining LBFE: Those we serve must be 65 or over and have been reduced to one social contact per month. In addition, we provide the Elders Counseling Elders Program (ECE), which tackles the emotional isolation older adults often experience as they deal with the challenges associated with aging. We hold the deep conviction that no one should have to grow old alone.
