Founded in March 1996, the New Orleans Police Foundation is dedicated to improving the Criminal Justice System in Orleans Parish through partnerships with a special focus on the New Orleans Police Department. The Foundation supports the quality of life and professional growth of those courageous men and women who have sworn to defend our community and secure justice through the rule of law. The fundamental goal of the Foundation is to make New Orleans a safer place to live, work and visit. The benchmarks for success for the Foundation are reduction of crime, raising the quality of life for the community, and resurgence of economic development.
