The Oregon Zoo Foundation works to foster community pride and involvement in the Oregon Zoo and to secure financial support for the Zoo’s conservation, education, and cultural programs. The Foundation supports the zoo through continuous membership drives, fundraising activities, promotions, the ZooParent sponsor program and special projects. The Oregon Zoo was established in 1887 and today is the leading paid attraction in the state of Oregon. The Zoo includes about 1,029 specimens representing 200 species of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.
