River Network

River Network helps people understand, protect and restore rivers and their watersheds. River Network was founded in 1988 with the conviction that the solutions to river degradation are primarily local and must be created by citizen action watershed by watershed. The original concept of River Network was to provide support to the hundreds of grassroots organizations (river guardians) across the country that are working to conserve their local rivers. In September 1999, the River Network Board of Trustees voted to merge with River Watch Network. The mission, programs and culture of the two organizations matched well. River Network provides personalized assistance, training and information to more than 700 Partner groups through our watershed programs.
