The San Diego Zoo promotes the conservation of endangered species and the habitats in which they live. The operation of the 100 acre Zoo and the 1,800 acre Wild Animal Park provides education and recreation dedicated to the reproduction, protection and exhibition of animals, plants and habitats. The Zoo’s research arm, The Center for Reproduction of Endangered Species, is one of the largest zoo-based research centers in the world.
