Since 1989, Skid Row Housing Trust has been committed to preserving and expanding the supply of safe, affordable housing in the area east of downtown Los Angeles known as Skid Row. The Trust currently operates sixteen single room occupancy (SRO) hotels with 978 units of permanent housing reserved for the city’s poorest residents. The Trust also provides a variety of supportive services designed to support a civic community on Skid Row. Once housed, clients may take advantage of tenant services designed to assist them in improving the quality of their lives. Skid Row Housing Trust is committed to the economic development of Skid Row, and works with residents, local agencies and employers to build a livable community here.
