The Steadman Hawkins Sports Medicine Foundation was founded in 1988 to conduct research into the causes, prevention, and treatment of orthopaedic disorders. Both the general public and orthopaedic professionals benefit from the Foundation’s advances in surgical and rehabilitation techniques. These have led to improved treatment for those suffering from arthritis as well as acute orthopaedic injuries. The Foundation dedicates itself to finding solutions to orthopaedic problems which limit a person’s ability to remain physically active. In fulfillment of its mission, the Foundation shares its findings with health care professionals and the public in a variety of ways.
