Established in 1931, the Holden Arboretum connects people with nature for inspiration and enjoyment, fosters learning and promotes conservation. The Holden Arboretum is a living museum of forest and woodlands, meadows and display gardens, mountains and ravines, rock ledges and lakes, rivers and streams, wetland and bogs and abundant wildlife. In addition to horticulture, we provide educational programming which engages individuals of all ages with plants and other aspects of the natural world to enhance fundamental learning, wellness and health. Holden is a year-round place of great beauty and tremendous scientific and ecological importance.
