The Parasol Community Foundation (PCF) was formed in 1996 as a venture philanthropic entity. PCF’s mission is to serve as a catalyst for a unique non-profit model that will better serve the Lake Tahoe community by promoting philanthropy, collaboration and volunteerism. PCF embodies the traditional community foundation form in building a permanent endowment and serving donor interests and needs through fund management and philanthropy. The Foundation has taken community responsiveness a step further by fostering the Parasol Community Collaboration (PCC) and creating the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-profit Center. Parasol guides the process of collaboration for the best ideas from the non-profit and for-profit worlds. It acts as a catalyst for non-profits to adopt a new entrepreneurial model.
