Organized in 1923, United Way of Central Alabama is committed to increasing the organized capacity of people to care for one another and to improve their community. In addition to the dollars allocated to over 80 partners and programs in our five-county area, United Way strives to provide services to members of the community in need of help. Through welfare to work initiatives, youth taskforces and job training and placement services, United Way initiatives are working to organize community collaboration in removing the barriers to employment for youth and adults. Likewise, United Way seeks to bring people from all sectors of our community together to discuss employment, child development and education issues.
