The United Way of Greater Greensboro began during World War I as the Greensboro Community Chest. United Way leads efforts to do what matters by creating systemic solutions to issues vital to the people of Greater Greensboro. United Way is uniquely positioned to bring people and resources together to solve pressing community problems. It develops local resources and distributes these resources to health and human service agencies and programs to create robust solutions and achieve community change. We lead the way toward community solutions in three focus areas: growing successful kids; helping people help themselves; and caring for everyone’s health.
