The United Way of Metropolitan Dallas is in the “helping” business. As the largest funder of local health and human services, we are led by volunteers and have been in the Dallas area for nearly 80 years. United Way also serves a role as community convener in the areas of public policy, project blueprint, documenting outcomes from programs that work and regularly assessing the community’s needs to ensure contributions also reach lesser known agencies and unmet or under-served needs. United Way raises funds and distributes them to more than one-hundred health and human service agencies in the local Dallas metropolitan area. In 2001, the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas raised more than $51.5 million dollars to help those most in need.
