The United Way of Sonoma-Mendocino-Lake (UWSML) was established in 1967, to focus on what matters most – making a positive and lasting impact on our community’s most critical needs. UWSML does that in part by working with and through over 100 partner health and human services agencies that are located right here in our three-county area. The value of our programs has never been demonstrated so clearly as during the past several years, when our area has been hit hard by the economic downturn. Levels of need for the programs that we assist have risen to unprecedented levels. At-risk youth, struggling families, isolated seniors, homelessness, disaster relief and substance abuse are just a few of the critical issues addressed by UWSML and its partner agencies.
