World Forestry Center

The World Forestry Center is an educational institution founded in Portland, Oregon in 1966. We operate three programs: The World Forest Institute, demonstration forests, and the Forest Discovery Center museum (opened 1971). The Center educates and informs people about the world’s forests and trees and their relationship to all life, in order to promote a balanced and sustainable future. We are based in Washington Park, adjacent to the Oregon Zoo, Children’s Museum (CM2), Hoyt Arboretum. The Magness Memorial Tree Farm, a demonstration forest and outdoor education site, is located near Wilsonville, Oregon; and the Johnson-Swanson Memorial Farm near Silverton, Oregon.
