Sempervirens Fund, originally established in 1900 as Sempervirens Club, is California’s oldest land conservancy. We are dedicated to preserving the forest ecology of the majestic coast redwoods, Sequoia Sempervirens. And we focus all our resources on just a single “bio-region”: the Santa Cruz Mountains, immediately adjacent to the San Francisco Bay Area population centers. We save land the old fashioned way. We buy it. Then we transfer the land to parks departments to be integrated into existing parks and to insure permanent public access. We also work to establish conservation easements and trail linkages between parks and coastal marine preserves. We have saved more than 21,000 acres in the creation and expansion of redwood parklands.
