Adopt-a-Village aids the Mayan people of northwest Guatemala to successfully develop their communities by providing the needed resources and training. Its major goal is to better educational opportunities, help build leadership skills for the local youth and improve health conditions for impoverished families. Since 1991, AAV has completed over 60 major single-village projects including construction of primary schools, water systems, and roads, and has funded and administered many health projects, such as a tuberculosis treatment project.
