The Arlington Free Clinic (AFC) is committed to providing access to quality health care services to low-income, uninsured county residents. AFC is a community-based organization that provides medical care at no charge to low-income, uninsured persons utilizing volunteers and partnering with other health providers. In 2004, AFC provided 1,432 patients with 5,926 general medical visits, 4,555 specialty medical visits and 717 mental health counseling visits. Arlington Free Clinic provides a “medical home” to adults with acute and chronic illnesses needing routine medical supervision and medications. Volunteer physicians provide this care during scheduled clinics several times each week.
