Atlanta Humane Society

Founded in 1873, the Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) extends compassion to animals and people. We work to prevent neglect, abuse, cruelty, and exploitation of animals and to assure that their interests and well-being are fully, effectively and humanely protected by an aware and caring Society. Services and programs include: animal intake and care, adoptions, education, advocacy, consultation and crises intervention, food bank, hospital/clinic, rescue, resource for social service agencies, and support of the indigent. The Society is the only agency providing such extensive and focused animal welfare services in the Southeast.
