Bishop Sullivan Center

Created in 1972 under the name of Cooperative Social Services, Bishop Sullivan Center works to provide basic necessities to people who are unable to do so and to move those who are able to become self-sufficient. We also educate people about the reality of poverty. The Center now operates two food pantries, a soup kitchen, job placement services, after-school tutoring for children, a clothes closet, poverty education programs and financial emergency assistance. Our two food pantries serve about 1,200 families a month. Our soup kitchen serves about 150 a night, five nights a week. We help, on average each month, 185 families with rent and utility bills, totaling $25,000. We place about 30 people a month in jobs.
