Founded in 1989, the Cancer Wellness Center seeks to empower those affected by cancer, and to enhance the quality of their lives through psychosocial support and education. Because the cancer experience is emotionally and financially draining for families of every background, and because insurance does not cover supportive services, the Center provides all its offerings to cancer survivors and their families free of charge. The Center offers a broad range of programs, including: support groups, educational programs and stress reduction programs, among others.
