Capital Humane Society

Founded in 1902, the mission of Capital Humane Society is to foster a healthy companionship between humans and animals, to help enhance appreciation of animals, prevent their abuse and underscore their intrinsic value. Today, Capital Humane Society serves the community by sheltering unwanted pets, acts as an advocate for animal welfare and strives to educate the public about responsible pet care. We provide many services including adoptions and veterinary care; population control; lost and found; prevention of cruelty; foster care; animal assisted activities; humane education; and a puppy kindergarten.
