Established in 1996, Charity Cars is a car donation organization, and the first charity of its kind in the nation. Its mission is to provide a donated vehicle and vehicle support services to assist disadvantaged families in their transition from dependency to self-sufficiency. The Charity Cars car donations program provides a donated auto that has been refurbished to insure safety and reliability, a license plate, the down-payment for insurance, an emergency roadside assistance membership, a service warranty, and case management services to families willing to work. City, county, state, and local social services agencies that are involved with unemployment programs, refer prospective recipients to Charity Cars.
