Children’s Cancer Center

The Children’s Cancer Center was founded in 1974 and is dedicated to providing children who have cancer or chronic blood disorders and their families with the emotional, financial and educational support necessary to cope with their life-threatening illnesses. The Center works with the medical and psychosocial staff in the hospitals to create a supportive environment for pediatric hematology/oncology patients and their families. We strive to create a sense of normalcy and stability for the children. The Center helps the youngsters adapt to chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, transfusions and other forms of treatment. We help them cope with changes in their bodies, their family structures and their normal daily activities.
