Clothes Helping Kids was previously a part of Save the Children’s Western Area Office for U.S. programs and began doing business independently on May 1, 1999. Clothes Helping Kids continues to support Save the Children but also supports other community programs directly. We contact residents in and around the cities of Albuquerque, NM, Phoenix, AZ and Fargo, ND, requesting donations of used clothing and household items. Our drivers pick up these donations at the donors’ homes and take them to a Savers Thrift Store. The Savers Stores buy the goods on a bulk basis and in turn, they resell them to the general public at their stores throughout the United States. The net revenues generated from these donated goods are used to fund Save the Children and other community programs.
