Colorado Open Lands

Founded in 1981, Colorado Open Lands (COL) works to preserve the significant open lands and diminishing natural heritage of Colorado through private and public partnerships, innovative land conservation techniques, and strategic leadership. By using our conservation real estate expertise, partnerships with the private and public sector, and fundraising capabilities, COL has been instrumental in permanently protecting over 76,000 acres, through 112 projects in 29 counties to date. The land protected has included productive agricultural land, threatened viewsheds, community buffers, vital watersheds, and critical wildlife habitat.
