The Downtown Rescue Mission, which provides food and shelter for men, women, and children in the Huntsville area, is an organization dedicated to helping these people. Established in 1975, the Downtown Rescue Mission has touched the lives of many individuals. Throughout the years, we have revitalized the community by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of anyone who walks through our door, whether they are a chronic alcoholic, a teenage runaway, or a single mother in search of a place to stay. We have also catered to the diverse, ever-changing needs of our community. To account for changes in the population, we have expanded our missions to include discipleship programs, computer training, life skills instruction, and GED testing.
