Earth Conservation Corps

The Earth Conservation Corps is a youth development and environmental service organization founded in 1989 in one of our nation’s most disadvantaged communities, Southeast Washington, DC. We provide hands-on education, environmental training, professional experience, and leadership skills for disadvantaged young people ages 17-25 (called Corps members), as they work to restore the Anacostia River and surrounding communities. In 2005 Corps members completed 54,500 hours of service, providing school standards-based environmental education and service opportunities to 3,617 youth and adults.
