Fort Worth Zoo

The Fort Worth Zoo, established in 1909, is the oldest continuous zoo site in Texas and has grown into a nationally ranked family attraction. The Zoo works to strengthen the bond between humans and the environment by promoting responsible stewardship of wildlife and ensuring diverse, high-quality educational and entertaining family experiences through effective and efficient management of its resources. Our living animal collection includes over 400 species and 4,000 individual specimens of mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians and invertebrates. Over 921,000 guests visited the zoo during fiscal year 2003. Over 25,000 students and teachers attended our zoo education programs.
