Established in 1946, Freedom from Hunger is an international development organization working in sixteen countries across the globe. Freedom from Hunger brings innovative and sustainable self-help solutions to the fight against chronic hunger and poverty. Together with local partners, we equip families with resources they need to build futures of health, hope and dignity. Freedom from Hunger helps small groups of women secure a loan–on average just $75 per woman–and gives them a safe place to save. The women put their loans to work in very small businesses, such as making food products or crafts to sell. These small businesses generate income, along with a new sense of accomplishment and self-esteem.
