Friends of the Children is a revolutionary, mentoring program that transforms the lives of at-risk children. We believe that a relationship-oriented, child focused, sustained commitment, preventative approach is the most cost effective and realistic long-term solution to problems presented by disadvantaged children. Friends of Children currently employs 36 mentors, called “Friends”, that work with approximately 275 vulnerable children. Friends tutor, teach life skills and develop social skills. We believe that – one child at a time – we can change children’s lives from the path of hopelessness to the road of hope.
