Furman University

A private liberal arts university, Furman University was founded in 1826. The university is nationally acclaimed for its academic excellence, Engaged Learning program and campus beauty. Engaged Learning is Furman’s problem-solving, project-oriented, experience-based approach to the liberal arts. Furman’s enrollment is 2,623 undergraduates and 473 graduate students. Students come from 46 states and 31 foreign countries. The student to faculty ratio is 11:1 with an average class size of 19. Furman’s 750-acre campus includes a library, academic buildings, auditorium, music complex, theatre, infirmary, Humanities Center, student center, residence halls, dining hall, physical activities center, chapel, a 16,000-seat football stadium, athletic fields, and an 18-hole golf course.
