Guadalupe Center of Immokalee

The Guadalupe Center of Immokalee (GCI) is a social and human service organization whose mission is to serve the economically disadvantaged of our community with interim help and long-term programs that promote self-sufficiency, opportunity, and community stability. GCI was founded in 1982 as a soup kitchen to serve the oppressed migrant community of Immokalee, Florida. The growth and development of the organization over the past 22 years is a journey that tells the tale of several disparate groups of people in the process of becoming one-the People of Immokalee. GCI has been a steadfast companion on this journey, removing barriers, meeting challenges, providing nourishment, clothing, education, and support services for Immokalee’s migrant families.
