The Humane Society-Calhoun Area (HS-CA) protects animals from suffering and cruelty; provides safe and responsible care for lost or abandoned companion animals; and enhances the lives of animals and people thru education, adoption, and foster care. In the course of one business day, the HS-CA staff will answer over 300 calls for assistance. In the course of one year, staff technicians will administer over 6,000 vaccines, 1,700 heartworm tests and 1,600 leukemia and lenti tests. The HS-CA staff provides hundreds of referrals, educational and animal care information to Calhoun County residents and persons in the surrounding areas daily.
