Celebrating animals is our passion. The Humane Society of Greater Akron is dedicated to alleviating animal suffering, preventing and investigating animal cruelty, protecting the welfare of animals and providing quality adoption services. Today the Humane Society of Greater Akron focuses most of its resources on rescuing animals, restoring and maintaining their health and finding new homes for them. We also provide community education. We present classes in responsible pet care, animal behavior, our mission, and humane officer activities in Summit County. Lastly, we provide outreach programs for the community. Our focus is restoring and maintaining animals to the lives of people who would befit from having animal contact and companionship.
