Inspiration Corporation manages two organizations dedicated to helping men, women, families and youth who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. They are the Inspiration Café, in Uptown on Chicago’s north side, and The Living Room Café, in the south-side community of Woodlawn. Both organizations provide nutritious meals in a restaurant-style setting, case management, job assistance and other supportive services in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. Inspiration employs a concept of therapeutic community, where the community of people in common effort is the healing agent for the individual. Together, the Cafes have the resources to assist approximately 260 individuals annually.
