Founded in 1884, the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) is supported primarily by individual contributions. We are located in Louisville, Kentucky and are dedicated to serving the animals and people in our community. We provide shelter, food and medical care for unwanted, abused and neglected animals. We place animals into humane environments. KHS promotes awareness of the need to spay/neuter animals to eliminate pet overpopulation and we offer educational programs and other services designed to create a more responsible and humane world.
