Land Stewardship Project

The Land Stewardship Project (LSP) was founded in 1982 to foster an ethic of stewardship for farmland, to promote sustainable agriculture and to develop sustainable communities. Our work is currently concentrated in the following three areas: creating a new regional food system by linking farmers and consumers; promoting sustainable farming practices through education, research and demonstration; and creating a new vision for agriculture by organizing communities for positive change. LSP has helped dozens of communities organize to stop factory farms and linked sustainable livestock producers to potential urban customers.
