Lexington Humane Society

The Lexington Humane Society works to prevent cruelty and cultivate public sentiment towards humane treatment of all forms of animal life. The society provides animal adoption, care and control. Contributions to the shelter allow us to provide food, shelter, love and all too often, needed medical attention. Our “Spay and We’ll Pay” program is designed to help low-income families get their pets spayed or neutered before they can produce unwanted litters, which may eventually end up left at the Society. Our “Second Chance Fund” was created in December 2001 and provides extraordinary treatment for our special need shelter animals. We care for more than 12,000 animals each year.
