Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired was established in 1931 by Dolly Gamble, through the encouragement of blindness icon, Helen Keller. Programs at the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired enable blind and visually impaired persons to regain independent living skills. Youth Programs at Miami Lighthouse enable teens to transition into adulthood whether they want to pursue a career, higher education or acquire the skills necessary to live more independently. The Little Lighthouse program was established to give children beginning at birth an opportunity to begin discovering our world as the sighted population does. The Miami Lighthouse also provides a variety of classes designed to improve and expand the lives of students.
