Nebraska Humane Society

The Nebraska Humane Society, founded in 1875, is committed to the protection of animals. We provide education, give sanctuary to animals, encourage adoptions and promote responsible pet ownership. We serve the citizens and animals of our community by upholding the laws enacted for the protection of its people and animals. Just as we rely on our animals for companionship and unconditional love, animals rely on us for basic care and humane treatment. But because people do not – or cannot – always provide such care, concerned members of the Omaha community have for more than 120 years supported the work of the Nebraska Humane Society.
