Operation Kindness

Founded in 1976, Operation Kindness (OK) is the oldest and largest no-kill shelter in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We care for an average of 150-200 animals on a day-to-day basis, with another 60-80 animals in foster homes. More than 2,300 dogs and cats are adopted from OK each year. Our purpose is to provide a caring, no-kill shelter for homeless or unwanted cats and dogs until they are adopted into responsible, loving families. We accomplish this by: never euthanizing one animal to make room for another; providing high-quality veterinary care; dedicating efforts to finding caring, responsible families to adopt animals; educating the public; and participating in coalitions that share the goal of eliminating animal overpopulation and euthanasia as a means of animal control.
